KRONPRINZ TOMATO SEEDS

Solanum lycopersicum

Russian variety that was made available to Americans by the prolific seed saver Sylvia Davitz of Vermont. Solid red nippled fruits are very similar indeed to our beloved Téton de Vénus, though slightly smaller, more uniform, earlier, and produced in clusters. An excellent multi-purpose tomato, suitable for both fresh eating and processing. Incredibly productive indeterminate vines are fairly resistant to late blight. Just fantastic. Really delicious and versatile. Very highly recommended for all gardens.

The name Kronprinz is simply the German translation of the Russian name, Крон Принц. There appears to be another [boring] tomato named Crown Prince, so I have chosen German in an attempt to avoid confusion, and because a cursory search of the German name does turn up a couple links to what appears to be this very tomato.

It is all about the nipples.
