An amazing new selection from Peace Seedlings. Vigorous tall plants with tons of hypertendrils are blushed with red, and the beautiful bicolor flowers give way to translucent red pods that glow like stained glass in the sun. Both young pods and tendrils have excellent flavor. Truly a wonder and worth growing in every garden. Sow below an attractive fence or trellis in early spring or very late summer.

Unfortunately we had a terrible time getting a seed crop of these peas. In the spring, the plants were a favorite of our local vole population, and in the autumn the weather was not cooperative at all. We have precious few seeds to share, but seeds are also available directly from the breeders HERE. In addition to pretty peas, they maintain an impressive collection of diverse rare seeds and tubers. Peace Seedlings only accepts orders via snail mail, but the quality and selection they offer are worth the trouble.

Peas are self-pollinating and rarely cross in the garden, so you should absolutely make an effort to save some of these seeds! Allow pods to mature in the garden before picking and shelling and drying completely indoors. Store in an airtight jar until planting.
