This iconic Italian shelling bean is possibly the tastiest of the entire Borlotto family. Requisite for authentic Minestrone.

Rampant vines are incredibly productive and ornamental. Large red-streaked pods are full of big beautiful delicious beans. For shelling, pick when pods are plump and heavily streaked with red. For dry beans, allow pods to dry on the vine before shelling and storing beans.

Pole beans require warm soil to germinate. Plant in full sun when soil is at least 70F and nights are balmy. Provide a sturdy 6' trellis or create a teepee with 8' stakes. This variety will be most productive in warm summer regions, where beans will be ready to shell in 75 days.
