The big crumpled purple foliage of this orach is super succulent and salty. Tolerates heat and sun with aplomb. Fantastic summer spinach.

Orach is edible at all stages of growth. Young leaves have an almost crystaline texture that makes for fabulous salad fare. Mature plants can grow to 4', maintaining their spectacular color all the while. Seedheads are ornamental and pretty enough for the cutting garden.

Start indoors in early spring or sow directly into the garden in spring.
