The color of Magenta Magic Orach is a gorgeous saturated deep pink. Sown outdoors in early spring the first leaves are succulent, with an almost crystalline shimmering surface. Allowed to mature the plants can grow to 4', but big iridescent leaves stay saturated with color and are a good spinach substitute for months.

The value of Magenta Magic as an ornamental cannot be overstated. Consider transplanting several seedlings to the flower garden or insectary border. Bolting plants are very attractive. Color remains strong all season. Remove seedpods once they've turned brown to save seeds.
