Dr. Alan Kapuler of Peace Seeds in Corvallis, Oregon selected and perfected this open-pollinated Persian cucumber. Smooth skin and sweet crunchy flesh with small inconspicuous seeds. Maintains crisp texture for several days after picking.

Productive 3'-5' vines can be trellised or allowed to scramble over mulched ground. Harvest cucumbers when they're around 6" long. They won't get much larger than that, and left on the vine too long the quality will diminish.

These cucumbers can be pickled, but they're so good for fresh eating that it seems a shame to do so. Instead, pick up almost any “Middle Eastern" cookbook and get inspired, or just whip up a bowl of salad-e Shirazi and be grateful that a biochemist in Oregon contributed this fantastic cucumber to the American seed trade.
