PINK CYPRESS VINE SEEDS

Ipomoea quamoclit

An incredibly fast-growing and attractive vine, native to the Americas. Beautiful airy green foliage quickly covers a trellis. Early blooming, my plants begin to flower even in their nursery pots. Hummingbirds and butterflies love these flowers! Keep at least a couple plants on the patio or near a window to more easily partake of the spectacular show.

Very easy to grow. Tuck seeds beneath the surface of moist soil, pressing to keep seed snug. Mist generously with warm water and cover with plastic. Kept warm and moist, seeds will germinate in a week or so. Transplant promply to deep pots once seedlings have true leaves. Grow on at room temperature in bright light until planting outdoors after all danger of frost has passed. Seeds may also be sown directly into the garden after the last spring frost. Water frequently until germination occurs.

Plants require a trellis, and will grow up to 20' in a single season. They will tolerate some drought, but the foliage tends to become brown and emaciated. Best with moist shaded soil. Potted plants do best with just morning sun in a hot summer.

These plants bloom early and relentlessly. They will sometimes self-sow, and if plants aren't removed they will grow around and about whatever garden companions they can find. Take care to cull unwanted seedlings promptly.

Very nice with Chilean Glory Vine, although the Glory Vine needs a good head start from seed. Both ultimately grow quickly and will cover a fence or shed in no time at all given a warm summer and plenty of water.

Grown by Farmacie Isolde.

Packet contains at least 15 seeds.
